Research on Paddle Agitators

Numerical simulation studies indicate that a blade angle of 30° relative to the horizontal plane yields optimal solid-liquid mixing within the stirred tank. Angles that are too shallow result in a lower concentration of solid particles in the upper region, while excessively steep angles lead to increased solid particle sedimentation at the bottom.

Increasing the blade diameter, rotational speed, and number of blades all help enhance mixing performance and flow field uniformity. However, increasing the blade diameter and number of blades raises material usage and costs, while higher rotational speeds increase the load on the stirring shaft and motor power consumption; therefore, a balanced approach is required.

Future trends in the development of paddle agitators may include the integration of smarter design elements, such as remote monitoring and automated control systems. Improvements regarding energy conservation, emission reduction, and green manufacturing practices are also likely to be pursued.
