Test Methods For High-temperature Pressure Vessels

Sep 10, 2026 Leave a message

A testing method for high-temperature reactor pressure vessels-an invention patent applied for by Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute Co., Ltd.-was published on April 30, 2024.

The method involves providing a scaled-down high-temperature pressure vessel test apparatus and calculating the deviation volume regarding fluid loading; determining the volume of a compensating filler device based on this calculation; identifying the installation location and structure for the device based on the test zone; and subsequently manufacturing and installing the compensating filler device.

The compensating filler device comprises a porous container and ceramic blocks enclosed within it, with the total volume of the ceramic blocks serving to compensate for the deviation volume. This method accurately compensates for the deviation volume while enhancing the reliability and accuracy of the test apparatus, simplifying the testing process, and improving the efficiency of simulation tests for high-temperature reactor pressure vessels.
