The reactor assembly consists of the vessel body, lid, jacket, agitator, drive mechanism, shaft seal, and supports. Common agitation types include anchor, paddle, turbine, propeller, and frame styles; for vessels with a high height-to-diameter ratio, multi-stage agitator blades may be used, or configurations can be customized to meet specific user requirements. Heat exchange is facilitated via an external jacket, internal heat exchange surfaces, or external circulation. Heating methods include electric heating, hot water, circulating heat-transfer oil, far-infrared heating, and external or internal coil heating; cooling is achieved through the jacket or internal coils. Support options include pedestal-type or lug-type supports.
Packed seals are typically used for atmospheric or low-pressure applications (generally below 2 kg/cm²).
Mechanical seals are employed for moderate-pressure or vacuum applications (ranging from negative pressure up to 40 kg/cm²).
